Its the most wonderful time of the year… time to slow down and enjoy the advent season with the family. I love reading with my kids and we try to read everyday with few exceptions. Whether its a chapter book in the evening as a family or books on a unit study in the afternoon for school, reading is a frequent must in our home. Picture books are a wonderful way to include the older and the younger ones in our home and Christmas pictures books are some of my favorite.

I want to share one of our Christmas Usborne Favorites, “1001 Things to spot at Christmas” by Alex Firth. Who doesn’t like a good spot challenge? All of my kids can often be caught pouring over the 1001 Things to Spot books… together! Going down the list and working as a team to find all the hidden pictures is one of their favorite things to do. This book is perfect even for the non-readers since they are identifying the pictures and not trying to read the story. These books are great for your holiday drive to visit family or waiting for guests to arrive… Let the hunting begin!
